The wall tapestry is inspired from the’ japi’, a traditional symbol of Assamese folk culture. It is a handcrafted product which was originally used as an agricultural headgear by farmers to protect themselves from rain or sun's heat. In the present times, Japi finds a prominent place in the Assamese socio-cultural way of life, as it is often offered as a symbol of respect and welcome.
